About The Series 26 License

The Series 26 license is known formally as the Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Principal license and is a FINRA requirement for those wishing to serve as a principal for the solicitation, purchase, and/or sale of securities of closed-end companies and redeemable securities of companies during the period of original distribution only; and variable contracts, insurance premium funding programs and other contracts issued by an insurance company.

Please note that in order to earn your Series 26 license, you'll need to hold your Series 6 license or your Series 7 license

Series 26 Exam Requirements and Information

  • Number Of Questions: 110
  • Duration: 165 Minutes
  • Format: Multiple Choice
  • Passing Score: 70
  • Cost: $100
You must be associated with and sponsored by a FINRA member firm or other applicable self-regulatory organization (SRO) member firm to be eligible to take the Series 26 exam.

The FINRA Series 26 exam is broken into three major parts:

  • Supervising Associated Persons and Overseeing Sales Practices
