Description:

Staying Up-To-Date with BSA & OFAC: Training for the Frontline

With all of the recent regulatory changes focusing on lending and deposit compliance issues, it's easy to forget that training frontline personnel on Bank Secrecy Act and Office of Foreign Asset Control requirements is still a high priority.

This webinar will provide an update of the BSA and OFAC regulations, as well as a review of the common mistakes bankers make in attempting to comply with the complicated requirements.

Highlights Will Include:

  • Review of BSA and OFAC regulatory requirements
  • Instruction on preparing CTR, SAR and OFAC forms
  • Review of the current CTR exemption procedures
  • SAR, CTR and CIP frequently asked questions
  • SAR reporting for data loss situations
  • MSB/HRE monitoring requirements
  • Recent legal actions involving financial institutions

Who Should Attend

All personnel involved with an institution's BSA and OFAC compliance activities.

The Presenter

Terri D. Thomas is Senior VP and Legal Department Director for the Kansas Bankers Association. Prior to this, she was with "Bankers Choice," a financial consulting firm. Before this, Terri was employed in the financial industry for over twenty-three years in various capacities. Most notably, she served for fourteen years as in-house legal counsel and trust officer for Bank of America and its Kansas predecessors. Receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kansas State University in 1985, Terri continued her education at Washburn University School of Law and obtained her Juris Doctor in 1988.

Presently, she serves as an adjunct instructor at Washburn University School of Law and the University of Kansas School of Law and is a frequent seminar presenter for financial associations.

Cannot Attend The Live Presentation?

This presentation is also available in a recorded format, in On-Demand Or CD versions, as shown in the pricing options below.

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
