Description:

After a detailed credit analysis of a loan request has been performed, it is now time to communicate your findings in writing. Credit memoranda are a primary means of communications within the banking industry. In writing effective credit memoranda, it is not what you say that commands attention, but how you say it.
Credit memoranda serve three functions: 1) they provide information on the condition and status of a customer relationship; 2) they provide a record of thoughts and actions and 3) they support or recommend action.
The purpose of this course is to teach skills required to write an effective credit memorandum, which places emphasis upon factors or trends that are important without the need to state the obvious. In short, the credit memo should present relevant, material facts and the writers’ thoughts and opinions. Remember, anything you write in a credit memorandum will become public record if you find yourself in court with a borrower. Covered Topics Include:- Balance Sheet Analysis
- Income Statement Analysis
- Cash Flow Analysis
- Calculating and interpreting financial ratios and cash flow
- Questions to raise with the customer after the credit analysis is completed
- Outline of relevant factors to include in a credit memorandum
- How to report your finding efficiently and effectively in the credit memorandum
- Apply the concepts to a study case
Learning Objectives:- Strengthen understanding of credit analysis
- Interpret financial trends and financial ratios
- Write succinct and focused credit memoranda
- Meet with management armed with relevant questions and issues to be addressed
- Feel more confident in defending a recommended course of action based upon relevant facts

| About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts: |
Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.
The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!
And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.
Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions. |
